There are three different kinds of Multiple Choice questions.
- You have to choose from an option usually a number, statement.
- You have to choose from different options where you will be completing the sentence.
- You will have to choose 2 options at the same time.The thing is, whatever type you are doing a MCQ so you need to follow the same technique in all these types.
Things to remember.
- When you are given three options, it becomes obvious that you will hear all three options in the audio but you must be very careful while selecting an option because what you hear first may not be the answer.
- Generally, you will hear synonyms and paraphrases in the audio of the words and sentences or phrases in your questions and options. You need to open your ears for the meaning, the exact words that are in your question paper but mostly synonyms and paraphrases.
- Three choices often look identical in meaning which may make it difficult for you. Therefore to overcome this look for the keywords.
- Remember MCQ not only tests your listening skills but also your reading skills as you have to understand what do the questions and options mean.
- If you think an answer is correct, put a tick beside it and keep listening to make sure.
- Don’t spend any more time than is necessary. If you miss an answer, make a guess and move on.
- Use the technique 'Elimination method'.
